Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

This policy explains how Studio Lane Photography ("I", "me", "my") collects and uses personal information when you visit studiolanephotography.co.uk.

Who I am

Studio Lane Photography is operated by Jack Lane. For any questions about this policy or your data, contact jack@studiolanephotography.co.uk.

Information I collect

Contact form. When you submit an enquiry, I collect your name, email address, and the message you send. This is the only personal information actively collected through this site.

Automatic/technical data. Like most websites, this site runs on Squarespace, which sets a small number of functional cookies necessary for the site to work securely (e.g. a session security token) and collects basic, aggregated site analytics (such as page views and general visitor location) for my own use in understanding site traffic. This site does not use Google Analytics or any third-party advertising trackers.

How I use your information

I use the information you submit through the contact form solely to respond to your enquiry — for example, to discuss availability, pricing, or booking details for a photography project. I do not use it for marketing emails unless you separately opt in, and I do not sell or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Where your information goes

Contact form submissions are delivered to my email inbox, hosted on Google Workspace. My website itself is hosted by Squarespace. Both are established third-party providers who process data on my behalf as part of running this site — I don't share your information with anyone beyond these two service providers.

International data transfers

Squarespace and Google Workspace may process and store data outside the UK/EEA (including in the United States). Both providers maintain appropriate safeguards for international transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses, in line with UK GDPR requirements.

Legal basis for processing

I process contact form data on the basis of legitimate interests — responding to enquiries is necessary to run my photography business and answer prospective clients — and, where you've provided information as part of discussing a booking, in preparation for a contract.

How long I keep your information

I keep enquiry data for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and, if we proceed with a booking, for the duration of that working relationship plus a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping (typically no longer than 24 months from last contact, unless UK tax/accounting law requires longer). You can ask me to delete your data sooner — see below.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data I hold about you

  • Ask me to correct inaccurate data

  • Ask me to delete your data

  • Object to or restrict how I use your data

  • Complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you're unhappy with how your data has been handled

To exercise any of these rights, email jack@studiolanephotography.co.uk.

Children

This site and its services are not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes to the site or the law. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
